Who we are

Benue State Internal Revenue Service is a revenue generating agency of Benue State Government charged with the responsibility of collecting taxes and levies due to the state. BIRS is responsible for ensuring the effective and optimal collection, organization, and administration of taxes. It also includes working out revenue plans, providing interpretation for issues concerning tax collection, administration and general tax policy issues from the implementation of tax laws and regulation in Benue State. This is by generating tax assessments and managing payments for and by taxpayers.

BIRS conducts revenue matters in the most professional and efficient manner to ensure it upholds the mandate for which it was set-up by the government.
